What to do in Seoul if you have one day only? Seoul is famous for many reasons from cultural and artistic attractions. It is also heaven for beauty and foodie junkie. This city has been on my list for quite some time and finally got to visit it. Last year, I went on a business trip together with my workmates to the states and had a long "intended" layover which we turn into an exciting mini-vacation.

The best part is you don't need a visa if you are travelling to a third country via Korea from either of the five countries US, Japan, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. Just make sure you have  a confirmed onward flight ticket for departure within 30 days after entering Korea.

Below is the detailed itinerary. We arrived early in the morning and flight out was the next day. Spent a total of Php 3,417 which includes train rides from and to airport, food and accommodation.

Things to remember:
  • Make sure to tag your luggage all the way to your final destination. Just bring with you your carry-on. Some airlines wouldn't allow this if your layover is 24hrs or more. Locker storage are available in the airport.
  • Incheon International Airport also offers free transit tour ranging from 1-5 hours. The choices include an Incheon City Tour, Seoul City Tour, Temple Tour, and more. Entrance fee and food not covered.
  • Stay in Myeong-dong area. It's the center of everything in Seoul.
